HITH 351 Church History I
(HITH351)
A survey of the growth and development of Christianity from its Jewish and Hellenistic beginnings through the late Medieval period and to the eve of the Renaissance/Reformation era. Special attention is given to the contexts of the Western and Eastern Roman empires, the interaction with Islam, and reform movements within the Medieval church. An emphasis will also be placed on the development of theological concepts and their effect on the church and culture.
